Conservatory of Music and Dance ‘Joan Cantó’

Old palace of the textile industrialist Enrique García Peidro, known as Casa d’Escaló. It was restored in the 1980s for the “Joan Cantó” Municipal Conservatory of Music and Dance. It is a singular architecture of modernist style, designed by D. Vicente Pascual Pastor (1906-1908).

Outside, the rustic ashlars, the wrought iron whips, the sculpted vegetation, the door and the laminated iron lookout points, the sinuous balconies, the curved finish, etc., all stand out.

Inside, you can see wall paintings, woodwork (doors and furniture), plaster capitals, ceramics, hydraulic flooring, etc.
