Muro means "nature" with an amazing natural setting and an interesting historical and cultural heritage where nature, history and festivity of this town of the Comtat region offer the visitor welcome and hospitality.  

Banyeres de Mariola

Banyeres de Mariola municipal district is located at the very north of the Alicante province, within the region of L’Alcoià. We are located in the foothills of the Sierra de Mariola Natural Park, known for its variety of aromatic and medicinal herbs, as well as its numerous sources.

Banyeres Castle

Banyeres castle is located at 830 meters above the sea level, dating back to the 12th - 13th centuries. It consists of an Almohad constructive model of polygonal floor and topped by a large tower. The first news of the castle is from October 13, 1249, when King Jaime I granted the castle and the town of Banyeres to Jaufrido de Loaysa and his wife Jacometa. Currently, the state of the castle is the result of a restoration carried out in the 1970s and 1980s.
